Legendary Nigerian singer and actress Onyeka Onwenu has reportedly passed away at the age of 72. According to reports, she collapsed during the birthday party of Mrs. Stella Okoli on Tuesday night and was subsequently taken to Reddington Hospital in Lagos, where she was pronounced dead. An eyewitness at the party confirmed the sad news, stating, "It is very sad. Onyeka Onwenu just performed at the birthday of Mrs. Stella Okoli today (Tuesday, July 30, 2024), and after performing, she slumped. She was taken to Reddington Hospital and she couldn’t make it."
As of the time of this report, Onwenu's family has not yet officially announced her passing.
