Former Arsenal striker Ian Wright has criticized Manchester City forward Erling Haaland for what he described as a "coward's move" during City's 2-2 draw against Arsenal. Haaland threw the ball at the back of Arsenal defender Gabriel’s head after John Stones scored a late equalizer for City. Gabriel, with his shirt over his head in frustration, was not looking when Haaland threw the ball, which Wright condemned as unsportsmanlike behavior.
Despite the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) reviewing the incident, it was not deemed worthy of a red card, and the Football Association confirmed no further action would be taken. Wright expressed his disappointment in Haaland’s actions, stating that Gabriel would have faced Haaland directly had he known what was happening.
